What is Dads in Action (DIA)?

THE DIA is an initiative to help get more male role models into school. 

Dads In Action Mission Statement

Dads In Action exists to encourage and empower Dads and Dad-Like Figures to actively support their child’s education by volunteering time, sharing skills, and building a strong school community through consistent involvement in PTO activities. As a D.I.A. member, we will show up to help build a strong network of Dads who support each other, the school, and every student’s success.

How do I become a member of The DIA? 

1) Sign up to be a Dads in Action member.   

2) Complete a background check for the 2025-26 school year.

All Dads in Action members & volunteers are required to have a background check on file with the district for the 2023-2024 school year. A district-required background check must be completed every school year and a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your first volunteer event. (Prior background checks from the previous school year DO NOT roll over so all volunteers will need to complete the background check every school year.)You will NOT get a notification once the check is complete. (No news is good news.) 

3) Wear your official "Dads in Action" shirt when "on-duty."

This allows school personnel to easily identify DIA member(s) when on school property.  The shirt is included in your paid Dads in Action membership (completed in step 1).
